Apostolic Lies... Debunked

Hello Beautiful,

Today I would like to share my testimony of coming out of religion and into a relationship with Jesus. For many years I ran from God, because of Lies that I was taught by man. See, I was always told that in order to live for Jesus, I had to dress a certain way, give up my makeup, jeans and jewelry. The church that I attended was big on teaching the women all about dressing modest. Their idea of dressing modestly was wearing skirts that passed the fingertip test to where if it didn't go past your fingertips then it wasn't acceptable to wear in the house of God. It was the same for blouses, if the neckline was below 3 fingers wide from the neck down, then it wasn't acceptable. I changed the way I dressed when I started going to this Apostolic Pentecostal church but not because God told me to, but just because everyone else was dressed the same way in the church. If you dressed any other way, you got looked down upon and preached to about modesty. Women wore skirts and were not allowed to wear Jeans or pants of any kind. They loved to use the scripture that we are not to wear anything pertaining to a man. Deuteronomy 22:5 was continually beaten into us so that we would know what we were not to wear. It was man's twisted interpretation of the Word of God to suit their own agenda and false teaching to back up their standard of dress. This was never God's standard but man's.

God doesn't look at the outside, he looks at the heart. He cares about what is on the inside. He cleans up the inside so that it's seen on the outside. If you think that God is going to stop someone from answering his call due to wearing jeans, then you are highly mistaken. Modesty is between the woman of God and Jesus. God knows what each of us can and cannot wear. All beauty is vain but a woman who fears the Lord should be praised. When we give our lives completely over to Jesus, he shows us what he wants us to wear, because we represent him, we are ambassadors of Christ, we are royalty and need to walk as such.

The problem today is the religious people only look at the outside and do not have the discernment to know that Jesus is on the inside. For example, after my family and I left the church we were attending God sent us to another one for a short while. The pastor of that Pentecostal church wanted us to attend an event at another church so we went. At that time God already had stripped us of our religious garments and had us wearing Jeans so that we looked like we weren't apart of these churches. During an alter call my daughter approaches the alter and begins to pray and starts speaking in tongues. The older women gather around her with their ears up to her mouth trying to see if she's being filled with the Holy Ghost. I walk over to them and whisper to them that my daughter has been filled with the holy ghost for several years and prays in tongues all the time. Those women backed off and went and sat down. They had no discernment to know that the girl praying in tongues was of God. They assumed because she had makeup, jewelry and jeans on that she was a backslider getting refilled with the holy ghost. They judged the book by its cover without knowing what was inside. There are many Apostolic Pentecostals today that are dressed the part but are filthy on the inside. It doesn't matter what you wear, it matters to whom you belong. Because when you belong to Jesus, people will know you by your fruit, not by the length of your skirt, or whether you wear pants or don't.

When you dive deeper into the word of God you will realize that Deuteronomy 22:5 was a part of the old covenant, the 613 laws of Moses. So, if you continue to obey that law, then you have to obey the rest of the laws that the Pentecostals love to throw out. We can't pick and choose what we obey and what we don't obey in the bible. The things you don't like are still truth, no matter how you spin it. Taking an old law and making it God's standard is twisting the scripture to fit man's agenda, man's standard, not God's. We are to wear the armor of God, and not man's armor. We are to walk in the Spirit and not the flesh. Everything that God has, comes through his Spirit to ours. A lot of the reason that men twist scripture is because they only see the natural side of the scripture and never see the spiritual aspect because they are taught by man and not the Holy Ghost.

I can tell you from my own experience of being in a Pentecostal church that they have been bewitched by men and put back under the law, under the very bondage that Jesus died to set us free from. He became the law because the Old Testament law wasn't working. He fulfilled the law by becoming it, it was pinned to the cross and now is written on our hearts. There are many people that dress the part sitting on pews that are not of God at all, and many that are wearing jeans, makeup and jewelry that are the apple of Jesus eye.. But the churches today have no discernment to know the difference between the two.

So the next time someone tells you that you have to dress a certain way in order to live for God or to be in ministry, call that devil out. Because that is all that is, is the devil trying to get you from pursuing the calling that God has chosen you for. It is not up to man to say if you are called or not, it is up to God and him alone. Don't let anyone make you be ashamed of the body that God created. For many years I felt ashamed of my body because I was always told to cover it up. They make you think that your body is a bad thing and should not be seen. That is a form of abuse that completely destroys your self-esteem and your confidence. Why do you think the majority of Pentecostals are all overweight? Because they are ashamed of their bodies, oppressed by men which in turn becomes gluttony, but that is a whole other subject that they love to passover.

God made us in his image, his likeness so why would he want us to be ashamed of our bodies? Adam and Eve weren't ashamed of their bodies until Satan came in and deceived them. Then they saw that they were naked and were ashamed and hid from God. God wasn't ashamed of them, they were ashamed of themselves because of the deception they were under. Many are being deceived into thinking that being ashamed of your body is God's standard of living, and that if you don't look a certain way then you are not of God.

I am here as living proof that is a lie straight out of the pits of hell. Take what I said to the Lord, test the spirit behind what is being said. Take it to God and ask God to show you the truth. Jesus set me free from the claws and deception of Religion, manmade standards, yokes of oppression and what he has done for me and others, he can do for you. It's not about religion but about our relationship with Jesus.
