"Did you know that putting harmful chemicals on your skin can be far worse than ingesting them? This is in large part because when you eat something the enzymes in your saliva and stomach help break it down and flush it out of your body.

"When the chemical cocktail is delivered into your blood stream via your skin, however, it bypasses this built-in protective filtration process, so you have decreased protection against the toxins." Dr. Joseph Mercola

Beautiful skin starts with an exceptional Skincare routine but it doesn't stop there. In order to maintain healthy, Luxurious looking skin it has to come from within as well as the outside. When you are able to purge all of the toxic chemicals from the inside out that your body has been exposed to over the years then you are on the road to luxurious, younger looking fabulous skin. I started my own Skincare line because of all the toxic chemicals that I have found to be in some of the most sought after and prominent products there is.

When it comes to Skincare and the overall health of your body. The chemicals that you should avoid at all costs are the following:

  • Parabens-"Parabens are found in a wide range of products from shampoos, to face creams, serums and shower gels as well as baby lotion. They are also found in toothpaste and deodorant, as well as some pharmaceuticals. They also crop up in food and beverages. The most common parabens are butylparaben, methylparaben, and propylparaben. The American Chemical Society estimates that parabens are in about 85% of personal care products. They enter the body through the skin, from ingestion as well as inhalation. They have been know to be endocrine disruptors and aid in the increased risk of Cancer.  "What Are Parabens - And Are They Bad For You? - The Dermatology Review (thedermreview.com)

  • Formaldehyde-Exposure to formaldehyde can irritate the skin, throat, lungs, and eyes. Repeated exposure to formaldehyde can possibly lead to cancer. According to the International Agency for Research on Cancer, formaldehyde is considered to be a human carcinogen. This means exposure to it in large amounts for a prolonged period may put you at risk of developing cancer. However, most skincare products contain such small amounts of formaldehyde that many manufacturers don't consider it a risk to use it. Even though small amounts are used, many everyday skincare products like soaps, moisturizers, and cleansers contain formaldehyde, and it can still be harmful and irritating for your skin. For example, research shows that even short term use on normal skin can cause contact dermatitis "Formaldehyde shouldn't be in cosmetic products at all. It can be very sensitizing and irritating to the skin. It can also be carcinogenic. Even though it's not as damaging in lower concentrations it shouldn't be used in skincare products anymore," says Bigliardi. 5 harmful ingredients to avoid in skincare products (msn.com)

  • Sulfates- Sodium Lauryel Sulfate (SLS) and Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES). They have been known from my own experience to cause urinary tract infections and yeast infections. These key ingredient are often found in beauty and home products like shampoos, body wash, bath bombs, milk baths, detergents and toothpaste, to name a few. They can cause side effects over time. The components found in sulfates can be irritating to your skin, eyes and overall health, especially for people with sensitive or dry skin. They can cause side effects like dryness, acne and redness based on the amount of sulfate you consume over time. Sodium coco Sulfate or (ScS)  is a very popular alternative, which you can also find easily. it is a sulfate, but it’s supposed to be a bit less harsh than SLS. What consumers usually don’t know is that ScS contains about 50% SLS anyway. So if you decide to avoid SLS and you use ScS instead, that would be mainly for label appeal rather than real improvement.

  • Phthalates-phthalates are known endocrine disruptors. This means that in our bodies, they may interfere with the normal actions of our hormones. Avoiding phthalates in your skincare products can be tricky. Manufacturers who used phthalates in fragrances aren't required to list them as an ingredient on the back of their products. This is because they are often considered to be a part of the chemical makeup of fragrances. So if you are looking to avoid products with phthalates in them, it's not enough to take a look at the list of ingredients. Opt for products that are specifically labeled 'phthalate-free'. 5 harmful ingredients to avoid in skincare products (msn.com)

These chemicals that I have briefly stated are just the tip of the iceberg as to the many chemicals that companies are not disclosing to their customers. I personally have researched several fragrance companies and personally reached out to a few and they would not disclose whether or not they put harmful chemicals in their fragrance oils. I could only find a handful of companies that actually gives you access to the "Safety Data Sheet" for their fragrance. I was then able to do my own research about each of the chemicals that I have chosen to use in my products so that I know that what I am providing to my customers is pure, clean, natural and not harmful.

These chemicals that many people are unaware of are being formulated in our everyday products that millions of people slather all over their bodies or inhale through candles, wax melts, perfumes to name a few. What we put on our bodies soaks through our pores and effects the health of our bodies. The first and foremost thing that we must do is get these chemicals out of our bodies by detoxing those chemicals and using only Skincare products that are made with all natural ingredients....
