Sometimes your body won’t whisper — it will shout. Mine did on vacation through a headache that lingered, pressed harder, and finally broke me wide open.
What I thought was just pain turned out to be an invitation: to rest, to nourish, and to let God reset me.
In that moment, my husband made me three simple things: a bowl of blueberry oatmeal, a glass of pineapple cucumber mint juice, and a bottle of water with pink Himalayan salt. They weren’t fancy. But together, they became medicine — the very tools God used to remind me that healing can be simple, natural, and Spirit-led.
Now I want to share them with you, along with how they actually support your body when it’s crying out for relief.
🥣 Blueberry Oatmeal
To make the oatmeal, start by adding one cup of rolled oats to two cups of water or plant-based milk in a pot with just a pinch of pink Himalayan salt. Let it simmer on medium heat until it thickens and becomes creamy, usually about five to seven minutes. Once the oats are soft, remove the pot from the heat and gently stir in half a cup of frozen blueberries. The heat of the oatmeal will soften the berries, creating beautiful purple streaks without turning the whole bowl blue. If you like it sweeter, you can drizzle in a little maple syrup or raw honey before serving.
This simple recipe supports your body in multiple ways. Oats are naturally soothing to the digestive system, rich in soluble fiber that stabilizes blood sugar and feeds healthy gut bacteria, while also providing magnesium to relax tense muscles. Blueberries add anthocyanins, antioxidants that calm inflammation, protect blood vessels, and support brain function. Even the pinch of pink Himalayan salt makes a difference, replenishing trace minerals that improve hydration and energy balance. What looks like a simple bowl of oatmeal is actually a calming, anti-inflammatory meal that helps the body and mind reset.
🧃 Pineapple Cucumber Mint Juice
For this juice, use the whole pineapple, including the core. The core contains the highest concentration of bromelain, the enzyme that makes pineapple so powerful in fighting inflammation. If you’re using a blender, chop the pineapple (with the core) into chunks and blend it with one peeled cucumber, a handful of mint leaves. Pour it into a glass as is for more fiber, or strain for a lighter juice. If you have a juicer, run the pineapple (with the core), cucumber, and mint through it for an even smoother drink. Serve chilled, garnished with fresh mint or a cucumber slice if you’d like.
This juice is refreshing, but it’s also deeply healing. Pineapple provides bromelain, which reduces inflammation, eases sinus and joint pressure, and improves digestion. Vitamin C in pineapple also boosts the immune system and supports collagen for tissue repair. Cucumber restores hydration at a cellular level, gently flushing toxins and easing bloating. Mint adds more than flavor; it cools the system, relaxes smooth muscles, soothes digestion, and calms the nervous system. Together, these ingredients hydrate, refresh, and reset the body — making it one of the simplest but most effective wellness drinks you can make.
💧 Pink Himalayan Salt Water
The last recipe is as simple as it gets. Fill a twelve to sixteen ounce glass with filtered water and stir in about a quarter teaspoon of pink Himalayan salt until it dissolves completely. Sip it slowly throughout the day instead of all at once, giving your body time to absorb the minerals.
Water hydrates, but water with minerals actually keeps hydration in the cells. Pink Himalayan salt adds electrolytes like sodium, magnesium, calcium, and potassium. These minerals are crucial for muscle relaxation, nerve signaling, circulation, and steady energy. When the body is stressed or inflamed, minerals are often depleted — which is why this drink can feel so restorative.
Here’s a picture that might help you understand it: when rain hits a duck, it just rolls right off because the feathers aren’t absorbing it. That’s exactly what happens to your cells when you drink plain water — it passes through without fully absorbing. But when you add minerals, like pink Himalayan salt, it changes the way your body receives hydration. Suddenly, the water doesn’t just “roll off.” It gets pulled into your cells, where it actually nourishes and restores you at the deepest level.
What looks like a simple glass of water becomes a way to restore balance at the cellular level.
🌿 The Bigger Picture
These three recipes weren’t just food and drink. They were God’s way of drawing me into obedience and rest.
I didn’t just need relief from a headache. I needed my flesh to stop striving so my spirit could finally breathe. And in His kindness, He gave me simple, nourishing reminders that rest and healing don’t have to be complicated.
Maybe you’ve been running on empty too. Maybe your body is sending signals you’ve been ignoring. Let this be your invitation to pause, nourish, and rest.
