Loving Your New Candle
Make sure that you keep the wooden wick short.
This is seriously the most important tip we can give you. Keep your wick trimmed. Trim the wooden wick before you even light the candle for the first time. Trim the wick to a 1/4 of an inch. Before you begin your next burn, we suggest using candle wick trimmers to trim the wood wick to a 1/4 of an inch again before re-lighting. If you do not have any wick trimmers a new pair of fingernail clippers can be used instead to trim the wooden wick. If the wick is too long, it cannot absorb the wax and burn accurately. Most problems that people have with wooden wicks can be solved simply by trimming the wick. Burn time should be done in only 2-4 hr. increments NO MORE!! Your first burn time should last at least 30 minutes so the wax can melt and form an even melt pool of wax across the candle. Remember, the candle has a memory of its burns and if you do not let it form a complete melt pool (the wax melts all the way to the edge) An uneven melt pool of wax can suffocate the wick and cause problems when trying to light it. By letting the melt pool form the maximum scent throw and optimum candle usage will be achieved. Drafts will also affect the burn, so have your candle in a protected area. Follow these instructions to conserve longevity of the fragrance in the candle, it is best advised to not burn the candle longer than 4 hours at a time and to always remember TO TRIM THE WICK and you will have a Royal experience with our luxurious hand poured Candles made especially for you. Keep away from children and pets. NEVER leave a burning candle unattended.
